Tex’s day ten years ago looked a little different than today. Ten years ago it was all about walking, frisbee, walking, frisbee, sleeping, walking, frisbee, eating, sleeping. The highlight? Always the frisbee. Always. It’s not a frisbee so much as an aerobe: a flying disc he can catch more easily than a frisbee. We call it his precioussssss. Mostly because he gets obsessive and weird whenever it’s around. Much like Gollum (or even Frodo) with the Ring of Power in Lord of the Rings.
But in more recent years, he’s not as obsessed with his precious. He’s a senior, after all, like any dog over the age of seven. His days now look a little less active and a little more sleepy. Oh, and a LOT more covered in children.
Lately, our walks around the block look like Tex getting left in Cooper’s dust. Yes, that means my two-year-old is outrunning the dog that once outran a greyhound. (True story.) So after hitting up PetSmart and trying six weeks on Purina Pro Plan Bright Minds, did Tex regain any of HIS bright mind? Perhaps a memory of his precious? A little cognitive reboot? Owners who have put their dogs on a ProPlan diet have noticed differences in owner-dog interaction, interest in play, and ability to cope with change.
I don’t need to tell you. Let me SHOW you.
