I’ve been gathering some simple and easy Valentines Day ideas. These fruit kebabs would be perfect for V-Day—or any other time, really. Beyond simple, but then, that’s what I promised! Fun and simple ideas. Valentines Day doesn’t need to be insane, and it doesn’t just have to be all hearts and sugary stuff. (Though my cookies are fantastic…)My boys like fruit anyway, but they LOVE fruit on a stick. Actually, they would eat anything on a stick. Good thing in Texas, we like food on a stick. Go to any local fair or festival and you’ll find turkey, alligator, kebabs, and maybe even a frozen a banana on a stick. Sticks = tastiness.
I picked Valentinesy colors: red strawberries, pinky-red raspberries, purple grapes, and blueberries. To seal the deal, I served them on a dollar store heart-shaped plate. If you’re not sure where the kebab sticks are, I generally find them in the baking aisle near pots, pans, and measuring cups. You might also try the area of the store with the charcoal for grilling.
Whether you’re serving your spouse, kids, or even yourself, be a little fancy. Forget put a bird on it; put a stick through it!
Do you have any stupidly simple Valentines ideas? Ever try fancying up a meal by putting a stick through it??
