I have been staring at my computer screen for about two hours, sort of frozen. I have a list longer than I could possibly complete of things to do, and yet the length of the list plus the sheer exhaustion from such an intense weekend at the Blog Elevated Conference plus Houston Roller Derby Championship, all while juggling a nursing baby–well, let’s just say that I’m a bit info-logged.
Maybe I just need to go all triple coffee like I did this weekend?
Ps- That is totally normal consumption for me. Truth.
I have so many things that I am working on and trying to implement and meanwhile haven’t taken any great photos for you because I haven’t been near my camera in days. I also meant to prepare some blog posts but haven’t been near my computer in days. I also have not been near my kids in days, which means that Rob was SUPERDAD while I was running around in heeled boots, getting shin splints. True story.
I also wore flip flops. And stepped in large puddles.
Can you tell I got some stuff done on my to-do list? Like: painting toenails and buying new clothes ($50 at Ross for two dresses, a skirt, a belt, and pacifiers–the last of which I did NOT wear). I did forget to color my grays in with a Sharpie. Maybe tomorrow.
Immediately after having my brain inundated with amazing information, all the while meeting amazing people, I drove downtown to coach the Bayou City Bosses in the Championship game.
I traded my volunteer badge for a whistle (which I really only use in warmups). Let me tell you, that game was a doozy. Super intense and down to the last minute, anyone could have taken the title. Thankfully we took it home.
After all this brain-exploding, I have been so glad to get back to my kids, because we have these kinds of exchanges.
Saw: Look! It’s MEXICAN PIZZA!
Me: Whaaaa? That is MARCO’S Pizza.
Saw: Awwwww. When will it EVER be Mexican pizza?
I have no idea either. None. Aha! Rob informed me that it’s from Rhett and Link. Of course. Now back to my Linc.
Linc: MORE CEREAL, MOMMY!
Me: That’s not how you ask. Can you ask nicely?
Linc: More cereal please, Mommy. OR I’LL DIE.
Clearly, my children are hungry. And dramatic. They are also romantics.
Sawyer: Cooper, you are pretty. Prettier than…a water cup.
Me: A…water cup?
Sawyer: Yes. A water cup.
Life is definitely back to normal. I do have a few big and almost immediate changes as a result of Blog Elevated. The first is this: I’m working on a weekly email that will include links to my blog posts (in case you aren’t reading every day) and also probably some conversational life stuff, with maybe some new things and advance warning on Big News. Oh, and you also get a freebie for signing up, which I am honing at this very moment. You don’t have to wait for the freebie. Sign up here for a once-a-week email from yours truly.
